. . . combining the breathy timbre of a portative organ with the expressive interplay of a fine string quartet – New York Times

A favorite of Milwaukee audiences, The Flanders Recorder Quartet (Belgium), returns on their farewell tour. The Final Chapter: 30 Years focuses on transcriptions of music for organ and traverso, with compositions shifting between old and new (including two commissions), and supplying a touch of up-tempo swing repertoire.  The program represents one final burst of colorful recorder fireworks, exploring the spectrum of recorder music that has defined their signature style.

This concert is sponsored by Ian & Kathy Lambert

There will be a pre-concert lecture at 4:00, and a reception at intermission.  Approximate program length is 1 hour 45 minutes, including intermission.  Parking is available on the street, and this venue is also very near the 14 and 30 bus lines.
