The “Laudario” of the title is a priceless 13th-century manuscript that contains the earliest surviving music of the Italian devotional song tradition. Lionheart combines this very early, chant-like repertoire with later styles that grew out of it, culminating in the sublime harmonies of Renaissance composer Innocentius Dammonis, first published in Venice in 1508.
This concert is 1 hour 20 minutes in length, and is performed without intermission. Parking is available in the lot behind chapel, accessed at 29th and Orchard.
